Packers vs Cowboys

Well tonight the Packers played the Cowboys and myself and Elise went over to Curt, Julie and Keatons to watch this game. Keaton was enjoying all of the good snacks and was enjoying himself, even tho the PACKERS did not play very well. At least Julie's Cowboys did play good enough tonight to be the winner of the game. The final score was 27-16 in favor of Dallas.
**Here are a couple pics of Keaton enjoying the games festivities to help all packer fans during this sad time.

Its Begun

Its begun and is official, football season for the Green Bay Packers is off to a pretty good start. Tonight they played the Vikings and won 24-19. Aaron Rodgers is our new quarterback and he did okay considering all of the added pressure of following the greatest to play QB. The pack did have a few areas that they need to improve on but all-in-all, great game.

A Silver Lining

Well our water heater broke and had to be replaced as well as the water pump in our swamp cooler stopped and needed to be replaced, so it seemed that over the Labor Day Weekend Murphy's Law was doing overtime. As I was fixing these and working on the ole honey-do-list, I was hoping for that inevitable silver lining, and you know what, I found it in some really great photo's of my #1 Grandson and his great family. Life is good, Thanks Jules.

Now it is your turn to add to this Blog. Thats right, I have added a poll for you to vote on and check to see how others we know view different stuff. If we have a good turnout at the poll, I will try to add a new question every now and then and of course your comments will help decide future polls.

Finally, an update for ya all!

Well my life has not changed to much recently. But after all, my lifes changes usually are the most extreme when they do happen.
We had a BBQ on the 10th at The Metcalfs and as far as I know, it was a success!
Keaton was able to play with cousins Brooklyn and Brady and they seemed to really like each others company.

Keaton was in total amazement with all of the cool stuff.

A New Beginning

Today was a special day, one that will not be forgotten. I was fortunate to meet my son for lunch today. It has been over 20 years since the last time I saw him and this reunion was the most remarkable time you could ever imagine.

Later that evening Curt came over with his wonderful wife Julie and Keaton, my grandson who is 9 months 3 weeks and 2 days old.

For myself it marks a new beginning to a long lasting friendship and relationship with my son and his great family.

Quick Trip to Briz-land

Myself and Annette made a quick trip down to Orderville to visit with Briz. It was a nice trip and we were able to spend some time with her and go and see where she works. She works at a really cool place called Best Friends. Its a place where they take care of animals that have treated very badly and give them a second chance at a good life, she takes care of the cats. Robbie is doing consruction and they both seem to enjoy their work and living in a small town. They still have their two dogs, chance and spooky, they are a real handful at times but are a real joy to have around.
Thanks Briz for a great time, Love Ya!

Here are a few pics for your enjoyment.

Briz home and work. The pic below is one of the pods that she works in.

Mr. Favre retiring

Today we have heard that Brett Favre will retire from the NFL and the Green Bay Packers. This may not come to no surprise to many but for the rest of us it is a day that will be hard to forget. Brett is the Greatest QB and his many records will be forever remembered as well as he himself will be remembered as the Best. We are sad to hear this news but at the same time we celebrate his many accomlpishments. Our thanks go to this great man for making so many good times for all.
This news is still to new and like they say "time will tell".

Murphys Law?

Well since this blog is a journal of sort, I thought that in like most journals there has to be time for Murphys Law to play its fun little game. Today I was playing the domestic one and as the vacumn had to be changed, the sink that was filling with soapy water overflowed, the trash spilled on to the floor, the kitty litter needed changing and last but not least the clothes washer broke down. With wet towels being tossed into the tub and smoke bellowing out of the washer, I endured this domestic day with much frustration and many thoughts of why me? I quess it was just to be so that all of you could have a good day at my own expense. Hope you all enjoy this typical day in the life of Mark.

Super Bowl XLII

Its a Party!
Even though the PACKERS were not in this Superbowl, the game, party and the TV Ads were pretty darn good. The Giants defeated the Patriots 17-14. Here is a spattering of good times.

The Dinner?

The Dessert?

Well there you have it, great times for all except for the Patriots and Mr. Brady.

Playoffs!!!

Thats Right. Its the post season with Green Bay in the Playoffs going for the NFC Championship Game against either the Giants or the Cowboys. They advanced by beating the Seahawks 42-20 in Green Bay in a snow storm, with #4 leading them all the way. As far as who would I like the Packers to play next week, sorry to say, I would like them to play the Giants because the game will be played in Green Bay. Green Bay is and will always be the best football arena to play any game because it will challenge any team. If there was a National Capital for football it would be Green Bay! GO PACKERS!!!
